Disguised turkey

PJ had to disguise his turkey so it wouldn't get eaten for Thanksgiving. He disguised his as an army soldier. So at least we don't have to worry about Paul being eaten.

My hero

We love you Paul.

Christmas grab bag

Yes, it's true, I have your name. And you better watch out.

New photos in the 16th EN BDE album

Paul sent photos from Kuwait. Hope to get them on a regular basis with his cooperation.

Update: Just added more that came from PFC Fuentes.

When I said I need some "mother's little helpers" this is not what I meant.

He actually did a pretty good job. He really tried and had a nice little pile of snow off to the side of the drive. There is hope for him yet. Hey Matt, maybe you can stop by and PJ can give you some pointers. (just kidding, mostly). Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

PJ's first judo class

PJ's first judo class. He did great. He kept his opponent down when he was supposed to and escaped when he was supposed to try. He really enjoyed it. He's the one without a uniform. He should be in uniform next week.

Leaves.

Almost half done with the leaves and stuff in the yard. Still thinking a yard is a good thing Gary? Cause I'm ready for blacktop.

Talked to Paul

I talked to Paul on the phone last night. The time difference means I'll be getting calls at 2:30 am but you'll hear no complaints from me.

He's doing fine. It's dusty and uncomfortable and he's actually looking forward to getting to Iraq. The food is good though apparently. Just wanted to let everyone know. He has only had access to e-mail two or three times for short periods of time so if he doesn't get back to you right away he will when he can.

I'll be packing stuff up to send and have a permanent address in Iraq for him if anyone wants it let me know and I'll e-mail it. I don't want to put it on here. Mail to military in Iraq is supposed to be taking 10-14 days for letters and up to 24 days for packages.

Our tree

We decided a single yellow ribbon wasn't going to say how much we want our soldier back home so .... we are adding a ribbon a day from the last day we saw you till you come home again, safe. Four days, four ribbons. Our tree make look odd in a few months but we want you to know how much you mean to us Paul. The longer you are gone the more we miss you, the longer you are gone the more yellow our tree will get.

Oh, and added a few pictures in the kids album.

Paul at Atterbury

Here's Paul packing up for the long haul. I'll post when he actually gets there okay. It's going to be a long year so we'll have lots of pics and stuff up, hopefully on a regular basis.

Update: Paul and his unit are on the ground in Kuwait and on the way to their base. So far so good.

Update 2: Paul has limited access to the internet so can receive e-mails when he is able to log on. He can also check the blogs and stuff.

Photo albums

I started a photo album for the unit that Paul is going with. I put a password on it for safety and stuff. We are hoping to get a lot of stuff in there and just to assuage the minor paranoia I'd feel if I post guys and their rank and stuff I felt the need to make it harder to get into. I also added passwords to the family albums. The family password is Grandma Brownlee's first name. The unit's album password is the job that Nick does. If you don't know, don't feel bad. We are all trying to figure out what Nick does. :o) E-mail me or Robin or my mom and we'll let you know.

Ready to trick or treat

This was right before we left. We only went to about 7 or 8 houses total, including Paul's parents, and they filled their pumpkins with candy.
